AMETHYST

In ancient Greece, minerals were already used for different purposes and it was thought that amethyst fought the effects of drunkenness. From this small historical anecdote comes its name, from the Greek "amethystos" meaning "sober".

The fame of amethyst began with a Greek legend, with a beautiful story of gods and mortals. Apparently, Dionysus, god of wine, fell in love with a maiden named Amethystos, who wished to remain chaste. The goddess Artemis heard the prayers of this woman and to protect her she turned her into a white rock. When Dionysus saw her, he burst into tears and poured a cup of wine over the rock, dyeing it with the characteristic purple of the amethyst stone.

PINK QUARTZ

The ancient Greeks and Romans already had their beauty tricks and rose quartz played an important role in their rituals. They used rose quartz mineral powders to make masks, as we do today with clays. They emulsified the powders with water and oils to make their skin look brighter and younger. They also offered the mineral to the goddess Aphrodite or Venus, depending on whether they were Greeks or Romans, so that she would grant them love and beauty.
