The apple has been a symbol loaded with meaning throughout history, representing salvation, intelligence, memory, perfection and seduction. This iconic fruit also embodies concepts such as immortality, sin, wisdom, discord, rebirth and peace.
In Greek mythology, the apple was the trigger for the Trojan War. The goddess Eris, in an act of provocation, threw a golden apple with the inscription “for the most beautiful” at a banquet of goddesses. The ensuing dispute over possession of the apple led to the epic conflict. Since then, the apple has been synonymous with discord and temptation.
