Celebrating Mabon

Mabon, is the last festival of the wheel of the year, it celebrates the autumnal equinox (around September 22) coinciding with the day this season begins. Again, light and darkness remain in balance for an instant, marking a time of equality and harmony.

From this day until the winter solstice the days get shorter and colder. It is a perfect time to reflect on the achievements and failures, joys and sorrows that this year that is drawing to a close has brought us. It is also a time to give thanks, as is done at all harvest festivals.

As the equinox is a moment of balance, the best way to celebrate it is to try to balance your interior. Try to be productive and at the same time rest, find time for yourself and share time with others, all in equity. Mabon marks the entry of the sun into the sign of Libra, which is related to peace, diplomacy and, again, balance.

We live in a cycle, we go from one season to another, from one party to another, on this wheel that is life. The years go by but everything repeats itself, autumn arrives and we move on to winter... This connection with the earth, with the seasons and with the witches' festivals that celebrate all these events, make us in tune with the universe. By celebrating these holidays you reconnect with your ancestors, in the continuous circle of birth, death and rebirth.

Happy Mabon everyone!
